It’s rare when an artist gains international renown. It’s even more rare to see them come from the American Midwest. This group exhibit celebrates the rich history of Iowan and Midwestern artists on a national stage. Their contributions to current regional arts programming, funding, and institutions are fundamental and they continue to garner attention on prominent platforms. Individual and foundation-based collectors are invited to view rare and uncommon pieces by the heartland’s finest. Works by these artists can be seen in notable venues such as, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Modern Art, among many others. The artworks on display are available for purchase by: Marvin Cone, Bertha Jaques, Mauricio Lasansky, Conger Metcalf, and Grant Wood. Items in this exhibit include printmaking, studies, and paintings.
