The strange and wonderful pull of art has guided me through a long museum curatorial career. Yet all along I persistently made my own work. I’m best known for my mixed-media on paper pieces dealing with history, memory, and loss. In 2008, I started making jewelry. I see that impetus now as a “strange pull”—a pull to explore and celebrate form, color, and the expressive body. As a studio jeweler I am largely self-taught, bolstered with metals study at the University of Iowa, private study and workshops. I maintain a studio in my home. I am represented by several galleries including Gilded Pear in Cedar Rapids and FUEL in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, #lobelove at various venues, and Gravers Lane Gallery in Philadelphia.
