A landscape to which we appreciate the most, is our vista of familiar faces in our exhibit of Familiar Territory 's. Kate Kunau discussed the development of the landscape beginning as a lesser genre and how the Midwest (and it's Regionalist pioneers in Marvin Cone and Grant Wood) brought attention to the quiet loveliness that we now solicit and appreciate.
Thanks to everyone who attended, especially Kate Kunau for speaking at our event, as well as Lee Kimball for taking the time to travel and be a part of our gallery! Don't forget to check out Into the Woods: The Forest as Artistic Inspiration opening at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art on September 19th!
