Ann Royer was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and graduated from the School of Art at Colorado College. She later attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Much of Royer’s early journey into art was influenced by exposure to the Sioux City Art Center, where she often frequented as a child with her mother.

Royer currently works and lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her work – predominantly paintings and sculptures - consists of abstracted female figures, horses, and floral imagery.
